Happy Ninth Anniversary!

Today, I celebrate NINE years with my best friend - this day in 2003 was magical - how many brides can say they sat the pool the morning of their wedding (as well as the couple of days leading up to it??)?

In honor of our special day, here are some fun quotes I pinned, just for Mike. :) I wish I could claim these, but sometimes someone else says it perfectly. Feel free to check out my "For My Husband" board. :)

"Loved you then, Love you still. Always have, Always will."

"Unless you love someone, nothing else matters."

"Let the wife make the husband happy to come home, and let the husband make the wife sad to see him go."

"Marriage vows are like making a promise to have sleepovers every night with your best friend."

"For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. And it was not my lips you kissed, but my soul."

"Across the years - I will walk with you in deep green forests and shores of sand. And when our time on earth is through, in heaven too, you will have my hand."

"You have my whole heart for my whole life."

"Happiness is being married to your best friend."

"The real lover is the man who can thrill you by kissing your forehead." - Marilyn Monroe

"The best part of the day is when you and me become we."

"Home is where your husband is."

"You're pretty much my most favorite of all time in the history of forever."

Michael Mobley, I love you more than I ever have, more than I ever thought was possible. I'm so thankful for you, for our marriage, for our family. I'm so thankful that you desire to be a good husband and a good father, that you love me to the core for who I am (faults and all). Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the nine years you've given me, and here's to many many more.

I love you to the bonfire stack and back. And the moon and back.

Love, Lynne

You are God, You are God, of all else I'm letting go...

I've heard this song a number of times over the past year or so (I think it's been around a lot longer) but it rings true for me lately...especially the line I've made this blog post title. And, let me tell you, there is NOTHING sweeter than my husband looking at me in church and whispering "I love this song". Made me love it that much more.

HEAR THIS SONG HERE

You are good, You are good
When there's nothing good in me
You are love, You are love
On display for all to see
You are light, You are light
When the darkness closes in
You are hope, You are hope
You have covered all my sin

You are peace, You are peace
When my fear is crippling
You are true, You are true
Even in my wandering
You are joy, You are joy
You're the reason that I sing
You are life, You are life
In You death has lost its sting

Oh, I'm running to Your arms
I'm running to Your arms
The riches of Your love
Will always be enough
Nothing compares to Your embrace
Light of the world forever reign

You are more, You are more
Than my words will ever say
You are Lord, You are Lord
All creation will proclaim
You are here, You are here
In Your presence I'm made whole
You are God, You are God
Of all else I'm letting go

Oh, I'm running to Your arms
I'm running to Your arms
The riches of Your love
Will always be enough
Nothing compares to Your embrace
Light of the world forever reign

My heart will sing
No other name
Jesus, Jesus

Oh, I'm running to Your arms
I'm running to Your arms
The riches of Your love
Will always be enough
Nothing compares to Your embrace
Light of the world forever reign

Eye Candy...

Ha, ok, so my version of eye candy is a bunch of pictures of my kids. Enjoy! :)

If nothing else, this has proven to me that I need more pictures of my family...I got a new camera for Christmas, so I have no excuse! More pictures to come!!

Zoe and her sweet friend McKenna, April 2012

Clearly, this is not one of my kids...but it was a pretty fruit platter that we had on Easter, so I added it. :)

This is another non-kid photo - I made a caprese salad with a balsamic vinegar reduction for Easter...mmmm...

Happy Summer!!!

Every time I BLINK a period of time much longer than it actually takes to blink passes... for instance, today is...wait for it...JUNE!!! (ok, so I know we're six days in and the fact that it's June isn't actually brand new news, but it just hit me!)

Sigh...and this is my life. So, here are a few updates since the last time I posted -

MIKE & LYNNE - we're good...still. :) Starting to get involved in the new church we've been attending - taking it slow, but praying that if this is where God wants us to be long-term He makes it evident. Seems to be working out so far, we're really enjoying going and getting to know the people around us. Just this week, they had a "girls night" at Fuzzy's - yes please! It was a great time to get to hang out and visit with the people I've been getting to know, and to meet some new people.

A few weeks ago, I went with Granma (that's not misspelled) on what has become our annual girls' weekend. We went to Canyon Lake in the hill country, and just like last year, I enjoyed the heck out of it! We left on Friday morning, got there mid-afternoon and just hung out. We celebrated a birthday Friday night and went to a nice italian place, then spent pretty much the rest of the weekend being L.A.Z.Y. I read 1/2 of The Hunger Game trilogy (finished the rest a few days after I got home), drank some wine, and ate some food. Rinse and repeat. It was WONDERFUL. This is the view from my room (I know!!!!!):

The view from my room, leading right up to the lake!

I have known for a long time, but was reminded when Mike not only agreed that I could go, but actually encouraged me to go, WHILE HE WAS SICK - I have an AMAZING husband. I'm truly blessed - as we near our 9th wedding anniversary, I've been reflecting on our relationship. As with any relationship, we've had our ups and downs, but I can honestly say hands down he is the best thing that ever happened to me. He is my best friend, my confidant, my rock, the provider for my family, our spiritual leader. It's such a blessing to have a husband who wants to serve God, and wants to lead his family to do the same. I enjoy every minute together that we have, and so many couples these days don't enjoy just being together. Michael Mobley - I love you. To the moon and back. To the bonfire stack and back. :)

JOSH - Josh is officially my middle-schooler. He finished 6th grade this year, and transitions to middle school next year. This kid continues to blow my mind - he's so old...which...means...I'm old?!

This summer, he's staying home by himself while Mike and I go to work - it's a good test of maturity and responsibility, and we're hoping by the end of summer he'll have some good lessons under his belt (and hopefully none of those are as a result of hurting himself or burning down our house). :)

We're going to try (and by "we" I mean "me") to come up with some structure for him - I don't want him returning to school a mess after sitting around all summer. So, he's got bible studies, school work (ohmyword I'm giving my kid school work over the summer...I MUST be a mom!) and some skill improvement stuff that we'll be working on...I'll update on how all of that goes.

RYLIE - it's summer for my "first grader". No, seriously, sometime after her graduation (like that day, or maybe that night) she wrote me a note and signed it "your first grader"...really, here it is!

"I wrote this letter for you and I'm very happy are you too of course you should be because I was THE SOLOIST IN CLASS (per Rylie, capitalization  = yelling) and how good I was right Mommy?"
From: 1st grader Rylie
To: The Bestist Mommy every (that'd be me)

She graduated Kindergarten last week, and man was I proud of her...we got a front row seat for her "ceremony"...because we love her that much, and because she got the solo for her class! Yes, my crazy outgoing little girl made her mom so proud singing "One Small Voice"... for those of you that know me, you know I'm really not much of a crier...it really takes a lot to make me tear up. Well, I kid you not - half a second into her song I burst into tears...don't know why, and it didn't stop. I bit the crap out of my lip trying to stop sobbing so I could get the video without it being shaky from my blubbering like an idiot crying. I tried to load it to this post, but I guess it's too big...I'll keep trying to figure that out for those of you that want to see it. :)

So, now she's on summer break and having a great time so far - she's at her daycare for the bulk of the summer, and they've already got big plans - today they had a video game truck, tomorrow they have a water slide, etc.

ZOE - Fun. Fun. Fun. Zoe continues to be a hoot - we're still working on potty training, and she seems to be moving in the right direction lately...so keep your fingers crossed!

Today, I got a call from her school, asking me to talk to her about the fact that (1) we shouldn't pull our pants down and show our bottoms to other people, and (2) we should obey when we're told to stop doing (1). So, I got on the phone and heard the smallest voice I'd ever heard come out of that little girl...and tried my hardest not to laugh while "scolding" her.

So, that's an update from our world. It's been a crazy couple of months, and I'm sure that it won't slow down. Hope all of you have a great summer!

Love, The Mobley Family
