It's been a busy February in the Mobley house. We've made some major headway on our home - we redid our office (used to be Rylie's nursery, then her bedroom...now it's as close as it seems Mike will get to a man cave in this house!). We did a black/gray color scheme and absolutely love it! Right now, we have a bed that looks like a bed in it, for guests. My plan is to buy the right kind of pillows and make it looks more like a day bed/sitting area. You can see in the pictures below our accent color will be red - so far, I really love the bright pop of red in the room. We love it!
We also got new floors a few weeks ago (I think I previously mentioned that). To go with the new floors, we budgeted for new couches, a new coffee table and a new kitchen table. We needed it - we've been living with the same stuff for almost 9 years now (with three kids and a dog, you could say there's been some wear and tear). :)
From the doorway looking in...
My husband rocks! He MADE this bookshelf...
The bed/day-bed-to-be
In other news, my littlest one turned THREE on Friday. Hard to believe honestly. It does NOT feel like three years have gone by! She is such a fun little girl. Our plan was to have a bounce house in the backyard and have all her friends/family over to play. The rain put a damper on our plans, but it didn't stop us! We cancelled the bounce house that we rented (really, they called me and strongly "suggested" that we cancel...) so my awesome husband went to Toys R Us and just bought one! It was smaller than the one we'd rented, but plenty big enough for a bunch of little kids. So...we set that puppy up in our dining room! Cleared out all the furniture and just blew it up! It was loud, but the kids had a blast! We were thinking "we're the coolest parents ever for having a bounce house IN our house!". By the end of the party, I couldn't decide whether "coolest" or "stupidest" was the best word. Kidding...the kids did great on it and other than it being insanely loud, it worked out beautifully. I made a few decorations to match her orange/purple/pink theme and we kept it pretty simple. After friends left, family stuck around for the "after party". All in all, Zoe had a great birthday and was spoiled by everyone around her, as usual.
So, I say goodbye to my toddler and hello to my beautiful little three year old. We love you Zoe Grace Mobley!

| The table food...we had chicken nuggets, goldfish (for the orange), red grapes (for the purple) and the tiniest "no bake" cupcakes ever (ie, mini Reese's with frosting piped on top). |
